Description: This outstanding rose gray male took Blue and Reserve at AOBA 2009 at the age of 54 months!! This followed right on the heels of his Championship at the 2009 Kentucky Classic. To quote the breeder/former owner: If you could put all the best performing, most unique blend of genetics into one Stud for the most advanced color breeding program...that's exactly what Snowmass did and the result is nothing short of magnificent!!
It starts with his sire, Snowmass XXXtreme, a brown male out of the renowned Snowmass Royal Rose, a Hemingway son. Pair that with a MSG female, Snowmass Silver Star, out of Snowmass Casanova, a Bueno son, and Sir Winston's Sunstar from the revered Australian breeding program of Roger Haldane.
Snowmass Alpacas' entire gray genetic program is in this unbelievable Gray stud. To quote Julie and Don Skinner: If we were to have a Royal grey line of alpacas, Enlightenment is what it would take to get us there!!
His first crias arrived at Snowmass in the late summer of 2009...see the photo they sent to us and the cria's outstanding fleece! In 2010, at the Futurity, his son Snowmass Enlightened took Blue and Reserve Champion Gray!!
Enlightenment is resident in Colorado at Front Range Alpacas LLC from June through December. His breeding fee is $3500.
For any of our breedings, we gladly extend time payments without interest, providing the fee is entirely paid before the cria is born.
His crias born at FRA are fantastic and his daughters are now winning in the show ring this fall, bringing ribbons to their new owners.
